Bag Half Full Free Grocery Delivery Service

Bag half Full is a grocery delivery service started by Uof A medical students that has expanded into several other cities and will carry on after the pandemic.  They cater to individuals/families who are sick, self-isolating and/or immunocompromised, as well as individuals who are elderly or have disabilities that limit their access to grocery services.

Services: 1. Pick-up and delivery of online grocery orders  2. Grocery shopping and delivery  3. Prescription pick-up and delivery  There is no delivery or service fee, individuals can pay for their groceries online in advance OR they can use e-transfer, cash or cheque to pay the amount on the final receipt to the volunteer that paid for and picked up the order themselves.

All volunteers are recruited from health care professional programs in Alberta, including UofC, UofA, MRU and SAIT. Effective Monday March 23,we will devote 8:00 am to 9:00 am every Monday, Wednesday and Friday especially to seniors and people living with disabilities, so that they have an opportunity to shop in a freshly sanitized, fully stocked store.


Is introducing a “Golden Shopping Hour” for seniors.  It is on a store by store basis so you will need to call the store nearest you to see if they are offering it.
